A general name for the countries that lay north of Palestine. Most of the invading armies entered Palestine from the north (Isaiah 41:25; Jeremiah 1:14, Jeremiah 1:15; Jeremiah 50:3, Jeremiah 50:9, Jeremiah 50:41; Jeremiah 51:48; Ezekiel 26:7).
