Morning prayer

Day 12 · Keep my loved ones

Good morning. Before your day begins, take a pause. Breathe slowly and remember that God is here with you.

Praise

Psalms 115:12-15

12The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron. 13He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great. 14The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children. 15Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth.

The Word

Psalms 125:2
As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.

Prayer

Keep my loved ones

Protecting Father, today I place the people I love under your care. As each of them heads out to their tasks, I ask you to surround them as the mountains surround a city. Be with those who travel, those who study, those who work and those who stay at home. Protect them from evil, from accidents and from bad company. Watch over their souls as well, so that they do not turn away from you. What I cannot keep an eye on, you see. May we gather tonight and thank you for your protection. And if something hard happens, may we not lack your presence. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

For others

Think of someone who needs your prayer today and name them before God. You can write down your petitions in “My petitions”.

The Lord's Prayer

Matthew 6:9-13

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Blessing

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

May God be with you today.
