Evening prayer
Day 16 · After a hard day
Good evening. The day is ending. Breathe slowly, set aside what weighs on you and rest in God's presence.
Praise
Psalms 126:3-63The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. 4Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. 5They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
The Word
Psalms 30:5For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
Review of the day
Look back on your day with God, unhurried. What can you thank Him for? Is there something you did wrong that you want to place in His hands? What worries you about tomorrow? Tell Him in your own words.
Prayer
After a hard day
Compassionate God, today was a heavy day. Things went wrong, I felt tired and maybe misunderstood too. I come to the night with a tight heart and a few tears. I don't have to pretend with you that everything is fine. I bring you my sadness just as it is. Thank you that your word reminds me that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. I don't know what tomorrow will be like, but I know that you are still good. Hold me in my weariness and renew my hope while I sleep. Through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.
For others

The Lord's Prayer
Matthew 6:9-13Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Blessing
2 Corinthians 13:13All the saints salute you.
Rest in peace. God is watching over you.
