Morning prayer

Day 20 · Your presence with me

Good morning. Before your day begins, take a pause. Breathe slowly and remember that God is here with you.

Praise

²³Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. ²⁴Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. ²⁵Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.

The Word

Exodus 33:14

And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

Prayer

Your presence with me

God who is near, before I go out to face this day, I want to know that I am not going alone. You promised your people that your presence would go with them and that you would give them rest. Today I ask you for that same companionship. Go with me on the road, at work, in every encounter and in every wait. If you do not go with me, I don't want to take a single step. May your presence give me peace in the middle of the rush and an inner rest that nothing can take from me. Make me aware that you are at my side every moment. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

For others

Think of someone who needs your prayer today and name them before God. You can write down your petitions in “My petitions”.

The Lord's Prayer

Matthew 6:9-13

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Blessing

2 Thessalonians 3:16

Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

May God be with you today.
